Alexander Strange, Lawyer in our Commercial team, has worked with Cooper Grace Ward for almost three years. We asked him to tell us in his own words what life at Cooper Grace Ward is like, and a few of his past experiences and favourite things.

  1. What made you decide to become a lawyer?

Since I was young I always had a fascination with the law. Initially at university I took a different career path and went on to work in broadcast journalism, before going back to study law.

  1. How long have you worked at Cooper Grace Ward for and what brought you to that position?

Originally I began as a law clerk at the end of 2013 and progressed through the firm's development program to become a Graduate, until I was admitted in December 2015.

  1. If you could invite three people for dinner, dead or alive who would they be and why?

Tom Ford – for style.

Julie Andrews – for elegance.

Henry Cavill – for conversation.

  1. Where's the best place to go for a drink or dinner after work?

  1. What's the best advice you've ever been given?

To succeed is to learn from your mistakes.

  1. Do you have any hobbies/interests outside of work?

Group fitness and snow skiing.

  1. Complete this sentence: If I wasn't a lawyer, I would be...

A ski instructor.

  1. What do you think will be single biggest issue facing the legal space in Australia in 2016?

The immediacy that an increasingly globalised economy brings to the profession and how law firms can adapt to the need for efficient and reliable digital processes in the workplace to keep up with our clients and their needs.

  1. What do you love about your job?

The people.

  1. Something you might not know about me is that...

I used to teach group fitness.
