Guest Speaker:

Lena Vennström serves as Finance Director for Purchasing & Manufacturing for the Volvo Car Group. She is responsible for the financial setup of the new Volvo Car Group facility in South Carolina, and she was part of the Volvo team that made the decision to locate in Charleston. Lena has more than 25 years of experience in business development, including accounting, controlling, financial reporting, mergers & acquisitions and project management.

Presenters (in order of presentation):

Randy Hanson: Randy is an attorney at Womble Carlyle who advises businesses and their owners on U.S. and cross-border corporate and commercial transactions. His typical clients are emerging and middle-market companies, including closely-held businesses, from the Southeastern United States and from Latin America, Europe and Asia.  

Jon Olson: Jon has been the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Blackbaud since 2008. He is responsible for managing Blackbaud's worldwide legal activities including negotiating transactions, managing corporate governance, real estate & facilities, and compliance.

David Cuda: David is the Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Solutions, South Carolina, for Colliers International, the state's largest commercial real estate firm.

Lee Allen: Lee serves as the Executive Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle in Charleston. His primary responsibilities include assisting clients with land sales, site selection, lease negotiations, acquisition and disposition services.

Stephanie Yarbrough: Stephanie is an attorney who helps companies from across the country and around the world to identify and capitalize on the best economic development opportunities in the Southeastern United States. She has over 20 years of experience in business and economic development, and during her professional career, she has structured many of the major economic development deals in the Southeastern United States.

John Hunter: John is an attorney at Womble Carlyle who previously served as Director of Economic Development for the two-state, sixteen-county Charlotte Regional Partnership.  John works closely with domestic and international companies seeking to expand or relocate operations to the Carolinas and the Southeastern United States. 

Rhett Weiss: Rhett is the Managing Director of Womble Carlyle's Strategic Initiatives Group ("SIG"). SIG is a business consulting practice focused on helping companies to identify and secure corporate development opportunities globally.

Cyndy Turnipseed: Cyndy is an attorney for the South Carolina Department of Commerce. She works closely with companies as they move into or expand into South Carolina.

James Chavez: James is the President and CEO of the South Carolina Power Team. He is dedicated to supporting its local and regional partners in promoting, attracting and retaining business and new industry in South Carolina.

Brad De Vore: Brad is a Womble Carlyle attorney who provides counsel to and litigates on behalf of energy, paper, chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and mining companies in toxic tort, products liability, government enforcement and environmental litigation throughout the Southern United States.

Todd Billmire: Todd is a Womble Carlyle attorney who represents and advises businesses, utilities, and municipalities in complex environmental and toxic tort litigation and compliance matters. He has significant experience counseling clients on compliance with federal and state environmental statutes.

Didi Caldwell: Didi is the Senior Principle at Global Location Strategies. With over two decades of consulting in the site selection, incentive negotiations and capital financing arenas, she has led consulting projects in North and South America, Canada, Europe and Asia in industries including automotive, pulp and paper, chemicals, mining, textiles, logistics, consumer products, energy and biotech.
