Australia: Corrs named amongst top 10 most charitable companies for workplace giving in Australia
Last Updated: 2 July 2016

The Australian Charities Fund (ACF) has named Corrs Chambers Westgarth as one of the country's top 10 most charitable companies based on the proportion of employees involved in workplace giving.

The top 10 ranking for Corrs, the only law firm to make the list, is based on the ACF's new online reporting tool to track workplace giving as part of their national 'One Million Donors' campaign.

Jeremy King, Partner and Chairman of Pro Bono & Community at Corrs said the firm was honoured to be listed amongst other leading Australian corporates placing real value and focus on workplace giving and corporate philanthropy.

"As a firm, Corrs is committed to contributing actively to the community including through extensive pro bono work and fostering innovative ways of delivering philanthropy such as social finance and impact investment. To see our people also placing such an importance on giving is incredibly rewarding," said Mr King.

"We strive to foster an environment where the individual donors can really connect with the social or environmental issue they are supporting. Our strong workplace giving program cultivates collegiality and positively contributes to morale. It also delivers on our ethical obligations as a major corporate operating in Australia and the region."

Other companies to feature in the top 10 list include JB Hi-Fi, SEEK, Collins Food Group, Pacific Equity Partners, Atlassian, Event Hospitality & Entertainment, Flight Centre, BHP Billiton and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Earlier this month the ACF launched the ' One Million Donors' campaign, aimed at attracting one million working Australians to support charity through pre-tax payroll giving by 2020.
