Brisbane, 20 May 2016: Clayton Utz's initiatives to promote diversity and equal opportunity within the profession have been recognised with a Queensland Law Society (QLS) Equity and Diversity Award.

QLS named Clayton Utz the winner of the Large Legal Practice Award, which Brisbane Partner-in-Charge Alan Maguire accepted on the firm's behalf at the QLS Open Day yesterday.

The QLS Equity and Diversity Awards recognise firms that embrace the changing nature of the profession by promoting a positive firm culture that celebrates staff diversity and accommodates lifestyle needs.

Clayton Utz has a number of initiatives and programs in place to promote diversity and an equal opportunity work environment.

They include a Flexible Work Practices policy and training, supported by a dedicated Flexibility Manager and Flex@CU portal for employees; LGBTI Awareness training and an LGBTI network with a supportive 'Allies' program; Unconscious Bias Training; a Domestic Violence Policy and other leave policies; and over 100 Clayton Utz Mental Health Champions supporting a national Mental Health and Wellbeing program.
