British Virgin Islands: BVI News update

On 29 March 2005, the Supreme Court ( Non-Contentious) Probate Rules, 1986 were amended by the Supreme Court (Non-Contentious) Probate (Amendment) Rules, 2005 to do away with the requirement for bonds and sureties in applications for letters of administration. This change is welcomed by the legal profession in the BVI and will provide clients with an opportunity to have Letters of Administration processed without the onerous requirement for bonds and sureties.
