Canada: Chambers Global Ranks BLG in Top Tier for International Trade
Last Updated: April 26 2016

Toronto (April 21, 2016) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce it has been ranked Band 1 — the highest level of recognition — for International Trade/WTO in the 2016 edition of Chambers Global — The World's Leading Lawyers for Business.

In addition, the guide recognized BLG partners Greg Tereposky and Gerry Stobo as leading lawyers in this practice area. According to the guide, Mr. Tereposky "has an extensive WTO advisory and litigation practice, as well as advising on NAFTA and other bilateral negotiations." In addition, Chambers Global highlighted that Mr. Stobo is "well regarded for his work in anti-dumping and benefits from his prior experience as general counsel of the CITT [Canadian International Trade Tribunal]. He is also recognised for his prowess in procurement matters relating to international trade."

For two years, BLG has had an office in Beijing, China, and the firm has an extensive history of working with governments and businesses around the world in international trade disputes. BLG has acted in more ICSID and UNCITRAL investor-state arbitrations than any other Canadian law firm, and has appeared before arbitral panels established under NAFTA Chapters Eleven and Nineteen, the CITT and the China International Economic and Trade Commission.
