Acritas Ranks Borden Ladner Gervais LLP the First Choice of Clients for High-Stakes Business Litigation

Toronto (April 7, 2016) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce it has been ranked the first choice among clients for bet-the-company litigation, according to the 2015 Acritas Sharplegal survey.

"We understand how crucial litigation can be to the existence of a company, and we have both the strategic expertise and processes to ensure that our clients walk away successful," said John Blair, QC, national leader of Commercial Litigation at BLG. "From the outset, we work with clients to mitigate risk and develop litigation readiness, and bring a strong team of lawyers with expertise in virtually all areas of law. We are proud of the Acritas recognition, because it comes directly from clients operating in Canada and globally. Whether the matter involves a trade secret dispute, intellectual property injunction or shareholder lawsuit, clients know we pull together the best team, and strategy."

Each year, Acritas conducts a global survey, Sharplegal, with senior legal buyers and decision-makers across a wide variety of industry sectors. BLG's recognition is based on independent research involving 96 clients who are general counsel and buyers of strategic legal services. Fifty per cent of the client companies surveyed have revenues over US$1 billion, and the majority have both domestic and international legal requirements.
