Program Content:

Indirect tax continues to metamorphosize. What was originally considered a tax on the transfer of tangible personal property continues to evolve into a tax on the provision of services. This is especially evident in the increasing number of digital goods and services.

This program will provide an update on how states are evolving in taxing digital goods and services, including a discussion on transactions involving digital currency. In addition, it will address how the states are applying nexus to these digital service providers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify recent trends and updates regarding creation of activities through nexus and the taxation of digital goods and services
  • Predict the impact of digital currency
  • Identify the resulting ASC 450 implications

  • Joel Waterfield, Technology Industry Practice - National Tax Leader, McLean, Va.
  • Doug Kleiner, Director, Communications Sector National Tax Leader, Cincinnati, Ohio
