UK: Clyde & Co Appointed To Pernod Ricard Panel
Last Updated: 3 March 2016

Global law firm Clyde & Co has been appointed to the Pernod Ricard legal panel to advise on Regulatory work in both England and Scotland.

Created in 1975 by the link-up of Ricard and Pernod, the Pernod Ricard Group has gradually grown to become the co-leader in Wines and Spirits it is today – a decentralized Group, with more than 18,000 employees worldwide and a comprehensive portfolio of brands.

The review, which was led by Chivas Brothers general counsel Amanda Hamilton-Stanley, was carried out to reduce the number of firms on the panel, allowing the organisation to get to know each of the firms better and thereby establish a partnership approach going forward.

Clyde & Co was appointed to advise on regulatory law in both England and Scotland, which includes advice on Health and Safety and Environmental Compliance.

The relationship with Pernod Ricard will be led by Kirsty Gomersal (Partner, Leeds) and supported by Gilles Graham (Partner, Glasgow) in relation to any specific Scottish instructions.

Kirsty Gomersal, partner at Clyde & Co, commented: "We are absolutely delighted to be appointed to the Pernod Ricard panel and to be supporting the group in achieving its strategic objectives. We share many core values and we look forward to a long working relationship."

The Clyde & Co regulatory team is one of the largest in Scotland and has dealt with a number of high profile incidents such as Piper Alpha, the Stockline explosion and the Aberdeen helicopter disaster. Kirsty has 19 years' experience in advising on Health and Safety and Environmental law and has advised on incidents including the Potters Bar derailment. Both Kirsty and Gilles are listed in the Legal 500 and Chambers directories.
