Australia: Clayton Utz leaders support The Big Issue's International Vendor Week
Last Updated: 16 February 2016

Sydney, 11 February 2016: Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner Rob Cutler and Brisbane Partner in Charge Alan Maguire joined more than 60 business leaders last week to become street vendors as part of The Big Issue's International Vendor Week.

International Vendor Week is an annual event to celebrate The Big Issue's street vendors across the globe and help break down stereotypes around poverty and homelessness. For the past four years, The Big Issue has recruited senior business executives to join regular street vendors in selling copies of The Big Issue, raising funds and awareness of the impact of homelessness on individuals.

Together Rob and Alan - alongside regular street vendors David and Alfred - sold 140 copies of the magazine, raising nearly $1000.

Rob said participating in International Vendor Week was one of the many ways Clayton Utz supported The Big Issue and its efforts to support marginalised and homeless people.

"We have a long-standing partnership with The Big Issue through our Pro Bono practice. This year, we are proud to have also signed up as a Vendor Week partner as part of The Big Issue's 20th year anniversary.

"It's a terrific organisation that is doing a great job to help people get back on their feet - giving them a sense of dignity and pride and helping them stay connected with the community."
