Cayman Islands: Walkers Retains Band 1 Rating In The Chambers And Partners Asia-Pacific Guide

​Walkers is once again ranked Band 1 for 'Offshore' in Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific Guide 2016. The directory describes Walkers as:

"Finance giants with an impressive spread of knowledge across BVI and Cayman law. Considered to be at the forefront of the offshore finance space... Possesses considerable investment funds capabilities and a notable dispute resolution practice."

Also described as "more commercially attuned than other firms", Walkers Hong Kong and Walkers Singapore have eight partners ranked in the guide – the highest number among the group of Offshore firms with a presence in Asia.
 
Singapore managing partner John Rogers is ranked as an 'Eminent Practitioner' for Offshore legal services in Asia.  In response to the latest rankings, he noted:

"We pride ourselves on the breadth and depth of our Asia wide offering. We are fortunate to have such a talented team with a deep knowledge and understanding of the laws we practice and the Asian region in which we operate."
  
Other Walkers Asia personnel who achieved individual rankings include:
  • Fraser Hern and Arwel Lewis - Band 1.
Fraser is singled out for his strong track record in contentious and non-contentious matters. Arwel is described by one client as being "very commercial, user-friendly and smart."
  • Hong Kong managing partner Andy Randall and Denise Wong - Band 2.
Denise is described as "very practical, very commercial and responsive" and Andy's practice is highlighted for advising on a broad range of capital markets and asset finance transactions.
  • Thomas Granger - Band 4.
Thomas is praised for being "very experienced in the formation of investment funds, very prompt and very familiar with the industry".

Finally, Kristen Kwok and Laura Rogers are both classified as 'Up-and-Coming' - those who are driving their firm's growth.

Kristen is notable for her PRC-facing practice, especially for securitisation matters. Laura is described by one client as "super-bright" and wins acclaim for her corporate practice.
