United States: Strasburger Announces Election Of New Partners

On behalf of the firm's Policy Committee, Strasburger & Price, LLP Managing Partner Dan Butcher announced today that the firm has elected Julie Biermacher, Anita Kerin and Melody Smith to the partnership effective January 1, 2016. Julie practices in the firm's Collin County office. Anita is based in Houston, and Melody works from Strasburger's Dallas office.

Each of them has done an exceptional job, not only in the technical aspect of law practice, but also in demonstrating a dedication to client service and commitment to the firm," noted Strasburger managing partner Dan Butcher. Julie represents clients in commercial litigation with an emphasis on financial services and banking litigation. Her experience includes a variety of cases involving commercial lending, commercial workouts, real estate acquisition and development, foreclosure-related disputes, investment fraud, and theft of trade secrets. Julie currently serves as Co-Chair of StrasburgerBOLD – Collin County, the firm's strategy to promote women within the firm, the legal profession and Collin County's business community. Thompson and Reuters has included Julie in its Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2011 to 2015. Julie received her J. D cum laude from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2007. She was the Executive Editor of the Computer Law Review and Technology Journal, a Dean's Scholarship Recipient and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity. She graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in 2004.

Anita maintains a business service and litigation practice with an emphasis in commercial disputes, contract negotiation, product liability and personal injury matters. She has tried several cases to verdict including a unanimous defense verdict in a jury trial in Harris County involving allegations of breach of express and implied warranties. Anita has also successfully obtained pre-suit dismissals or summary judgments in products liability, negligence, breach of contract and other types of cases. Anita attended the University of Houston Law Center, where she received a J.D. in 2007 and was a member of the Mock Trial Team. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A cum laude in 2001.

Melody is an experienced litigation attorney and counselor who specializes in developing effective strategies to protect and defend businesses and their owners. She regularly represents clients in employment issues, real estate matters, school law disputes, business conflicts, and product liability proceedings. Melody has served as lead counsel at trial and in oral arguments. Thompson and Reuters named Melody to its Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2015. She graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law with a J.D. cum laude in 2008, where she was the Managing Editor of The International Lawyer. She  graduated from Austin College with a B.A. magna cum laude in 2002.
