Cayman Islands: Conyers Dill & Pearman, Cayman Capitalises On Strength Of Global Network To Ensure Business Continuity
Last Updated: 23 September 2004

George Town, Grand Cayman – September 22, 2004

The offices of Conyers Dill & Pearman, Cayman as well as the affiliated Codan Trust Company (Cayman) Limited have resumed normal operations.

Throughout the turmoil created by the devastating Hurricane Ivan, the international offshore law firm has been able to continue to service clients who need Cayman advice by tapping into the global network of Cayman familiar lawyers in its offices in Bermuda, BVI, Hong Kong, London and Singapore.

The Firm’s offices, which house over 20 staff, in Century Yard George Town, officially reopened on Monday, September 20, and are fully operational despite the devastating effects last week of Hurricane Ivan. Power and communications have been restored to central George Town and the Companies Registry, Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange are also operational.

CD&P had a trial run of its crisis management / business continuity in June of 2002 following a fire at the British Virgin Islands office. In this instance too, the firm carried on business as normal, relocating some staff to the Bermuda office and ensuring workload was allocated equitably throughout the firm.
