Australia: Corrs expands human capital and workplace relations practice with new partner Alan Colman

Premium independent law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has promoted Alan Colman to partner in the Workplace Relations team in Melbourne.

With more than 20 years of professional experience, Alan is one of the most highly regarded lawyers in the field of human capital. He brings the credentials to deliver the best employment, workplace relations and safety advice to Australia's leading employers, particularly in the private sector.

Corrs partner and CEO John W.H. Denton AO said, "Alan will bolster Corrs' top tier practice in the workplace relations area. The depth of his global experience will also make a significant contribution to the firm's international capabilities."

His promotion to partnership is effective from 1 February 2016.

This is Corrs' fourth new partner appointment this year.

About Alan Colman

Specialising in workplace relations and dispute resolution, Alan is regarded as an exceptional senior lawyer with extensive strategic labour law and international development experience.

Alan's experience includes 13 years at Herbert Smith Freehills and six years at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, most recently as Acting Chief Counsel. He has expertise in major labour reform for some of Australia's largest employers.

Alan has also worked in legal roles at the United Nations in Geneva.
