UK: Clyde & Co Expands IP Offering With New Partner Hire
Last Updated: 3 February 2016

Clyde & Co has today announced the arrival of Ralph Cox as a Partner in its Intellectual Property Group in London.

Ralph Cox is a leading lawyer in the field of Intellectual Property (IP) with over 20 years' experience. He joins from Fasken Martineau where he was head of the London contentious IP group for the last ten years.

Ralph's practice focuses on patent litigation, particularly in the life sciences industry acting for pharmaceutical companies. He also has expertise in contentious trade mark, passing off and design work, transactional and life sciences regulatory work and patent due diligence on pharma/biotech deals and IPOs.

David Wilkinson, Head of IP in the UK at Clyde & Co, commented: "We're delighted to have Ralph joining the firm. He is a market leader with a standout reputation and will bring a wealth of expertise to our clients in the field of patent and other IP litigation."

"With the opening of the Unified Patents Court expected in 2017, London will entrench its position as the centre for life sciences patent litigation in Europe. With Ralph on board, we intend to cement ourselves as one of the go-to firms in this field."

Ralph Cox said: "Joining Clyde & Co with its international reputation for excellence, particularly in contentious work, is a great opportunity for me. I look forward to working with the team to expand Clyde & Co's IP practice globally, as well as in the UK."

In July 2015 Clyde & Co boosted its IP practice by hiring David Wilkinson, a highly regarded IP lawyer, as its UK practice head. David and Ralph's hires in London will build upon the success of Clyde & Co's market-leading IP group in the UAE, which is ranked in band 1 by Chambers & Partners (Chambers & Partners Global 2016).
