Program Content:

Lawmakers enacted a groundbreaking tax and spending bill in December that makes more than $680 billion in tax changes. Twenty two popular tax provisions are now permanent, and the bill made important changes to the R&D credit, REIT rules, bonus depreciation, alternative fuel credits, health care reform excise taxes and many other provisions. Tune into our webcast to learn what's been made permanent, what's been enhanced and what's next for the tax provisions that are still temporary. We'll discuss new opportunities and revenue raisers created by the bill, and resulting changes to the outlook for tax reform.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how the new law has altered, extended or made permanent various tax extender provisions
  • Identify new opportunities created by enhancements to the R&D credit and other incentives
  • Interpret how the bill affects the outlook for tax reform and future extensions of temporary provisions

  • Mark Andrus, Partner, Strategic Federal Tax Services
