Last Updated: January 7 2016

Gary Lawson, Strasburger & Price, LLP partner in Collin County, was honored Saturday night, January 2, 2016, when the Texas Legends named him a Home Depot Community Hero at that evening's game in Dr Pepper Arena. Gary, pictured above with Legends' Host Ashley Miller along with a Legends' dancer, was lauded for his many years of community service. Gary serves on the board of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. He co-founded and runs a non-profit organization now called the Independence Corps.org, providing high-tech mobility devices like the iBOT and Track Chairs to wounded and disabled post 9/11 veterans. He was also chairman of the board of directors of Snowball Express, a charity for children of fallen military. Because of his commitment to veterans and their families, in 2013 the Secretary of the Army inducted Gary as an Honorary Member of the U.S. Army's famed "Nightstalkers," the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Lawson also served on the board of the First in Texas Foundation, promoting children's interest in math and science by supporting robotics programs and competitions.  Strasburger is proud of Gary and his untiring commitment to the community. His friends and fellow attorneys note that he supports everyone he knows with an ever-present smile on his face.

Gary practices in the area of employee benefits, pension and retirement law. He writes and speaks frequently on issues related to pensions and employee benefits. Lawson also has served as an expert witness before Congress on pension and health matters. He is admitted to practice law in Texas and New York. He holds a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
