Canada: Top Competition Law/Anti-Trust Lawyer And Litigator Joins BLG

Toronto (January 4, 2016) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that Davit Akman has joined the firm's Toronto office as a partner in the Competition and Foreign Investment Review Group and Class Action practices. Davit brings a wide breadth of experience in complex competition law/antitrust, class action and commercial litigation matters. He advises domestic and international clients, including leading pharmaceutical, software, manufacturing and technology sector companies, on all aspects of Canadian competition law, including cartel investigations and private actions, intellectual property/antitrust matters, advertising and marketing practices, abuse of dominance and other reviewable trade practices. Davit has also served as counsel in a number of Canada's most important competition litigation cases, including matters before the Supreme Court of Canada and the Canadian Competition Tribunal. A significant portion of his practice involves defending national and cross-border antitrust class actions.
