Last Updated: 16 December 2015

Conyers Dill & Pearman congratulates Erik Bodden on receiving the Rising Star Award from the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association ("RISA").

RISA is INSOL's Cayman Islands chapter. Each year members are invited to nominate individuals for the RISA Awards which, in addition to the Rising Star Award, include Lawyer and Accountant of the Year.

"Erik has been an asset to the team from day one" stated Kevin Butler, Partner & Head of the Cayman Islands Office. He continued "as Conyers' scholarship recipient throughout his studies, Erik demonstrated he has a strong legal mind by graduating with a first class degree, ranking first overall in his year, and was awarded various prizes, including the Sweet & Maxwell Prize - Best Performance in the First Year of the Full Time Degree; the Dean's Prize of the School of Law, University of Liverpool – Most outstanding LLB graduate; the Tim Shea Memorial Prize – Best performance over the Full Time Degree Programme; and the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Prize – Best performance in the Third Year of the Full Time Degree. All of this while also competing in the Willem C VIS International Moot, placing in the top 10%. So we were not surprised to see that Erik was recognised as a Rising Star by his colleagues at RISA".

Paul Smith, Partner and Head of Litigation the Cayman office, said: "We are very pleased to hear that RISA has recognised Erik as an 'up and coming' associate. He is a very capable junior, adding depth to our litigation and restructuring department, and we expect his reputation will grow positively in the years to come".

As part of Conyers' world-class Litigation & Restructuring practice in the Cayman Islands, Erik's practice covers all areas of international commercial and trust litigation. Additionally, he advises on non-contentious trusts, wills and probate.

RISA is a not for profit membership organisation in the Cayman Islands. The aim of the organisation is to promote the strengths of the sector, encourage collaboration and communication and to benefit the Cayman community through charitable pursuits. RISA is a member of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals.
