Last Updated: 17 November 2015

Independent law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth is delighted to announce its support for a new generation of entrepreneurs by partnering with the Wade Institute, home to the University of Melbourne's new Master of Entrepreneurship.

The Corrs Chambers Westgarth Entrepreneurs' Scholarship will support one student enrolled in the Master of Entrepreneurship at the Wade Institute, part of Ormond College at the University of Melbourne.

The Master of Entrepreneurship – the perfect degree for the Entrepreneurial age – is a 12 month program designed to learn by doing.

Corrs partner and CEO John W.H. Denton AO said, "I believe there are certain entrepreneurial traits that can be taught. And the Master of Entrepreneurship is a great place to learn them."

"Corrs is proud to be supporting the Wade Institute, the University of Melbourne and the Master of Entrepreneurship, in their vision to help entrepreneurs succeed."

As the exclusive legal partner, Corrs will provide financial assistance for living and learning expenses, as well as deliver course content to help develop students' understanding of the legal issues facing start-ups.

"Corrs is passionate about supporting a new generation of entrepreneurs and we look forward to sharing our knowledge with early start-ups who are already disrupting a number of industries."

The Corrs Entrepreneurs' Scholarship, to the value of $25,000, will be offered to one student enrolled in the Master of Entrepreneurship to provide financial assistance for living and learning expenses.

Corrs joins other major corporates who have also supported entrepreneurship in Australia through individual scholarships. Corporate scholarships have also been announced by Credit Suisse and Australia Post. Naomi Milgrom has funded a scholarship for women entrepreneurs and Ormond alumni have also created a scholarship fund.
