Last Updated: 16 November 2015

Ogier has announced the promotion of Richard Daggett to a partner of the firm.

His appointment, effective 1 November 2015, brings Ogier's global partnership to 52.

Richard is well known both in Jersey and in the London market as a specialist corporate finance lawyer focusing on complex real estate investment transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private equity structures and IPOs.†

Niamh Lalor, head of Ogier's private equity practice in Jersey, said: "Richard is a talented lawyer who is both technically strong and has excellent client relationship skills. Having a lawyer of Richard's calibre and initiative join Ogier's partnership will further enhance our client proposition and contribute to the growth of our business law practice."†

A former Ogier bursary student, Richard joined the team in 2004 as part of the firm's first in-take of English trainees and has worked on some of the largest and most noteworthy real estate transactions over the past decade, including intu Properties Plc's £867 million acquisition of multiple Westfield shopping centres, Carlyle's £610 million acquisition of the distressed White Tower portfolio, Hammerson's £307 million purchase of a further stake in the Bullring Shopping Centre and KKR's first ever European property acquisition.

Richard has also acted for global private equity firms on high profile transactions, including the £680 million sale of Jury's Inn, the £1.54 billion main market listing of Partnership Assurance and the £462 million acquisition by Cinven of Premium Credit. Recommended by Legal 500 for the past two years, Richard was admitted as an English Solicitor in 2006 and qualified as a Jersey Advocate in 2009.†
