Jersey: Ogier Gives Work-Based Taster To A Level Students Interested In Law
Last Updated: 16 November 2015

Ogier's annual A Level placement programme gave a work-based taster to Jersey students interested in a career in law this half term.

19 students attended the two-day programme on Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 October.

They were given the chance to hear direct from Ogier lawyers, who gave presentations on their areas of specialism and life at the firm, as well as take part in a mock trial at the Magistrate's Court led by Ogier Advocate Pierre Landick.

Harriett Bisson, from Ogier's HR team, said: "All the students said they thoroughly enjoyed their time with Ogier and found both days both enjoyable and informative as they learned more about what to expect from a career in law.

"We are hopeful that we will see a number of these students applying for our Bursary Scheme and Trainee Solicitor Programme in the future."

Ogier's 2016 Bursary Scheme and 2016 & 2017 Trainee Solicitor Programme opened for applications on 1 October. The closing date is the end of January 2016.
