United States: McCreary Named Fox Rothschild’s New CPO
Last Updated: October 7 2015

Mark G. McCreary was featured in the IAPP article, "McCreary Named Fox Rothschild's New CPO." Full text can be found in the September 25, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

Fox Rothschild announced that Partner Mark G. McCreary has added the role of Chief Privacy Officer to his role as a member of the firm's Corporate, Intellectual Property and Privacy and Data Security Practices.

McCreary will work with the firm's security committee to put in place measures to best protect client privacy.

"I'm the guy that comes up with what the policy should be, or who collaborates with the IT department, and looks at the policy they come up with to make sure they comply with the law and that it makes sense," McCreary said.

McCreary's attitude toward data protection is one of caution and that focuses on encryption.

"The one thing you'll never hear me say is that no matter what you do, you're hack proof," he said. The best defense? "To me, it's encryption. You try and encrypt all the data that you can."
