The firm represents BNP Paribas in subsidiary BancWest’s acquisition of Community First Bank, located in North Dakota. Partner Rod Peck, who shares his time between the New York and San Francisco offices, comments on the complex negotiations due to business conducted in multiple states. With this acquisition, BancWest expands its presence in retail banking. With more than 500 branches nationwide (including 155 in 12 southwestern states), BancWest becomes the seventh-largest commercial bank in the West. The Pillsbury Winthrop cross-office team also includes partners Robert Webster in New York, Patricia Young in New York, Cindy Schlaefer in Silicon Valley and Keith Gercken in San Francisco, counsel Glen Cuccinello in New York and Rosemarie Oda in San Francisco, as well as associates Stuart Casillas and Michael Ouimette in San Francisco.
