United States: Pillsbury Winthrop Adds Key Employment Partner to Silicon Valley Office

PALO ALTO, CA -- Pillsbury Winthrop LLP announces today that partner Greg Lemmer has joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office to continue his employment law practice, which includes litigation and counseling in the areas of wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment and wage and hour. Lemmer represents employers in several industries, including software, networking, telecommunications and retailing.

"Greg brings a distinct skill set to the table, which will enhance what we can offer our clients," says Paula Weber, co-chair of Pillsbury Winthrop's employment and labor practice. "His broad employment knowledge and unique Silicon Valley experience make him a perfect fit for our practice."

Lemmer comes to Pillsbury Winthrop from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Joining Lemmer is associate Amy Thornborrow, who has practiced with him in the litigation and employment area with for several years, most recently at Orrick.

Lemmer has served as lead counsel in numerous lawsuits filed in federal and state courts involving claims of wrongful discharge or wrongful termination in violation of public policy. He has successfully defended several employers against harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and various federal and state courts.

Lemmer also provides clients with day-to-day counseling advice on such issues as leaves of absence, wage and hour laws, reasonable accommodations for disabled employees and applicants, workplace investigations, preparation of human resources policies and employment, incentive pay and employment and severance agreements. He regularly conducts training presentations to managers and human resources professionals throughout the United States on all these topic.

Lemmer received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, an M.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University and a B.A. also from Michigan State University.
