Hong Kong: Conyers Dill & Pearman Expands Litigation Practice With Launch Of Asia Disputes & Restructuring Group
Last Updated: 28 September 2015

In recent years, the demand for litigation services in the Asian market has increased steadily. In particular, Conyers' corporate practice in the region, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary, has experienced significant growth and with that, has come the need to further service clients with broader on the ground litigation advice that is coordinated across jurisdictions and time zones.

As a result, Conyers is expanding the litigation practice with the launch of the Asia Disputes & Restructuring Group ("ADRG"), which will be led by senior advocate, Nigel Meeson, QC. Nigel is joining the Hong Kong office from our Cayman office where he established the litigation practice in 2007. Prior to joining the Firm, Nigel practiced for nearly 25 years at the Bar in London as one of London's top commercial litigators, before moving to the Cayman Islands.

"We are pleased to welcome Nigel to the region", said Christopher Bickley, Head of the Hong Kong office. He continued, "Broadening our litigation service offering through a QC-led team provides clients with greater access to sophisticated advice. Adding additional ways to support clients ultimately increases the value we bring to them".

Under Meeson's leadership and direction, and through our existing multi-lingual team in Hong Kong, clients will be serviced through the ADRG by the most experienced and highest rated partner-led team in Asia, Bermuda, BVI and Cayman. The team comprises globally recognised leaders in their fields and top-tier advocates in our jurisdictional offices, in addition to expert litigators in Hong Kong. This will ensure clients across the Far East have access to fully coordinated litigation advice and services provided by a seamless team – a unique offering in the offshore world.

Narinder Hargun, Global Head of Litigation and Co-Chairman of the Firm said, "The Asian market is of utmost importance. The demand for real-time litigation services is paramount, Conyers' global approach and reliable, quality expertise is unprecedented and built to ensure clients receive the most comprehensive advice available".
