United States: Portland's Duden Neiman Joins WK&G, Expanding Oregon Presence
Last Updated: April 13 2004

Seattle, WA - (March 1, 2004) Seattle-based law firm Williams, Kastner & Gibbs PLLC (WK&G) announced today that the 11 attorneys of Duden Neiman LLP have joined WK&G's Portland office. Duden Neiman is known for its civil litigation practice. According to founding partner Eric Neiman, the move to Williams, Kastner & Gibbs translates to additional efficiencies with common clients of the two firms, more specialized services and the ability to meet increased demand by WK&G’s clients for added legal representation on a regional and national basis. The agreement expands the 75-year-old practice of Williams, Kaster & Gibbs to more than 90 attorneys with offices in Seattle, Tacoma and Portland.

We have been working toward building our practice in the Portland area, and Duden Neiman made perfect sense given our working relationships on various matters and the similar way we view the practice of law," said Mark Davidson, WK&G’s Managing Member. Added Neiman, "Our cultures matched well, and WK&G affords us greater administrative resources and the opportunity to expand our reach."

Duden Neiman immediately assumes the name Williams Kastner & Gibbs. Its entire legal team will soon relocate to a new downtown Portland location along with colleagues Richard Urrutia, Amy Carlton and Marc Carlton, who launched the Portland office of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs in 2002. The WK&G Portland office resulted from the combination of WK&G with the Portland firm James, Urrutia and Carlton, PC.

Paul R. Duden and Eric J. Neiman were partners in the historic law firm founded by General Tooze, Sr. Tooze practiced law from 1928 until his death in 1971. Tooze then was led by Lamar Tooze, Jr., a nationally known trial lawyer renowned as a pioneer in the coordination of the defense of mass torts. He died in 1985. The Tooze firm dissolved in 2002.
