Matheson has won three International Tax Awards at the International Tax Review European Awards. Matheson was named Irish Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year by the International Tax Review and was also awarded the European M&A Tax Deal of the Year for advising on a novel acquisition in the pharmaceutical sector and the European Consumer Products Tax Deal of the Year for advising on an innovative inversion transaction involving a major pharmaceutical business.

Matheson was shortlisted for International Firm of the Year award at this year's prestigious Legal Business Awards. The Legal Business Awards recognise the outstanding work from across the legal profession and acknowledge the accomplishments of the finest lawyers in the UK and internationally. Matheson was the only Irish law firm to be shortlisted for an award by Legal Business in 2015.

Matheson was awarded two Finance Dublin Deal of the Year Awards at Finance Dublin's Deals of the Year Awards 2015. The awards were given for transactions led by our Banking and Financial Institutions Groups. The first winning deal is in the Loans & Financing (Public Bodies/PPPs) category for advising the lenders in the BAM Schools Bundle 4 deal and the second winning deal in the Financial Services – Investment Funds category for advising ClearStream on its acquisition of Citco's Financial Institution Hedge Fund custody processing business.

John O'Connor, Head of the Technology Group at Matheson, has been appointed as a member of the Irish Government Data Forum announced by the Irish Minister for Data Protection, Dara Murphy. The Forum brings together industry, academic and legal experts to discuss areas around data protection and digital technology as part of the implementation of a roadmap aimed at enhancing Ireland's approach to data protection regulation in the digital economy.

Matheson will host its third successive sponsorship of the American Chamber of Commerce's autumn Cork Business Lunch on 25 September 2015 at the Maryborough Hotel, Cork.

The Matheson Foundation is shortlisted for 2015 Allianz Business to Arts Awards. The Matheson Foundation, in partnership with the National Gallery of Ireland, is pleased to have been shortlisted for the Best Use of Creativity in the Community category for the 'Helping Children to Achieve their Creative Potential' project. The Matheson Foundation's support of the Children and Family Education Programme enables the National Gallery to offer facilities, materials and workshops that teach children how to appreciate art and encourage their creative skills in a nurturing, family environment.
