UK: Wragge & Co Corporate Supports Powergen In-House Legal Team on £52.5 Million Acquisition of Gas Fired Power Station

Wragge & Co LLP Corporate Group provided support to Powergen’s in-house legal team on its £52.5 million deal to buy out its joint venture partner, Siemens Project Ventures GmbH to take full ownership of the gas fired power plant, Cottam Development Centre. The Nottinghamshire station, which began generation in 2000, employs 31 people on site and produces power for around a quarter of a million homes.

Powergen’s in-house legal team was supported by Wragge & Co corporate partner Ian Metcalfe, tax partner Kevin Lowe and corporate associate Ben Gillespie.

The transaction involved the acquisition by Powergen UK plc of the entire issued share capital of SPV Investments Limited from Siemens Project Ventures GmbH. SPV Investments Limited holds 50 per cent of the share capital in Cottam Development Centre Limited while the remaining 50 per cent was held by Powergen.
