Last Updated: 7 July 2015

Clyde & Co announced today that David Wilkinson, a highly regarded intellectual property lawyer, has joined the firm's London office as the Head of Clyde & Co's Intellectual Property practice in the UK.

David was previously an intellectual property partner at Bristows and, more recently, Head of Intellectual Property at Stevens & Bolton.

David has more than 20 years' experience of handling disputes and transactions involving patents, trade marks, copyright, designs and confidential information in sectors as diverse as consumer goods, IT, media, telecommunications and life sciences.  David is Co-Chair of The Intellectual Property Lawyers' Organisation (TIPLO).  As a solicitor-advocate he has represented clients before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

In addition to his intellectual property practice, David is active in the area of reputation management, where he assists clients in protecting their reputations against risks such as misleading advertising, defamation and trade libel.

Rob Deans, head of Clyde & Co's global intellectual property group said:  "We are delighted that a lawyer of David's calibre and standing will be leading the growth of our UK intellectual property practice.  David's arrival is an important boost to our capabilities in the UK, which is such a key market for many of our clients."

David Wilkinson said: "I'm excited by the opportunity to be part of Clyde & Co's plans for its IP practice both in the UK and around the world, particularly by the ability to offer clients the global platform which business nowadays demands."
