United States: Dallas Bar Association President Joins Hughes & Luce - Labor And Employment

Dallas, Texas – Hughes & Luce, LLP has announced that Mark A. Shank and David M. Ellis, both formerly members of Clark, West, Keller, Butler & Ellis, L.L.P., have joined Hughes & Luce as partners effective June 1, 2001. Mr. Shank is the president of the Dallas Bar Association. The new lawyers will provide management-side advice and counseling to the firm’s clients through its Labor & Employment practice group.

Shank and Ellis said that they decided to join the Hughes & Luce team because of the growing needs of their clients and the reputation of the firm in the legal marketplace. The firm also announced that associates Christie Newkirk and Robert Wood are joining the firm's Labor and Employment law group.

Mark A. Shank is president of the Dallas Bar Association and is featured in the May 2000 issue of D Magazine as one of the "Best Lawyers in Dallas" in labor and employment law. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Labor Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Shank received his law degree from Missouri University in 1979 and his LL.M. from Southern Methodist University in 1984.
