Guernsey: Channel Islands Sailing Enthusiasts Prepare For The Biggest Race Of The Year
Last Updated: 1 June 2015

The organisers of the 2015 Carey Olsen Inter-Island Yacht Race are making a final call for entries to the Channel Islands' biggest sailing event, which sets sail from Jersey this year.

The race starts at 8.30am on Saturday 6 June setting out along Jersey's south coast to Corbière before making the 24 mile crossing to Guernsey and the finish line at Castle Cornet.

The day ends with a gala dinner at the Guernsey Yacht Club for all 450 crew members where prizes will be awarded across a broad range of classes from seasoned crews to young skippers.

We have been sponsoring the Race since 2010 and it is always well supported with up to 100 yachts taking part. This year we are bringing over special guest, Sally Kettle, who was the first woman to row the Atlantic twice. She will be joining the crew of managing partner Alex Ohlsson's yacht Jai Ho to make the voyage across to Guernsey and will be giving a talk in the evening about her adventures to date.

The race will be covered live via Twitter and the start in St Aubin's Bay will be captured in aerial photographs and film via a remote control drone, operated by Nigel Jeacock-Fewtrell.

Entry forms can be completed here up until Saturday 30 May. Full race instructions are available here.
