Program Content:

Comprehensive tax reform lowering both individual and corporate rates is all but dead for now, leaving lawmakers to decide whether to pursue "business" tax reform or move on to "extender" tax provisions. Tune in to our webcast to hear the latest prospect for business reform and to find out what business reform would mean for corporate rates, international tax rules, business tax incentives and pass-throughs. We'll also cover the tax fight over funding highways and the outlook for extending or making permanent the 50-plus popular tax provisions like the R&D credit.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the outlook for business reform
  • Identify which tax benefits are on the chopping block, what a corporate-only rate cut would mean for pass-throughs and how lawmakers could shift to a territorial system
  • Recognize how Congress could resurrect a deal to make the popular extender provisions permanent or settle for a short-term extension

Featured Speakers:

  • Mel Schwarz, partner, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
  • Dustin Stamper, director, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
  • Shamik Trivedi, manager, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
