United States: Sheena Aebig Receives Leadership Award
Last Updated: October 28 2003

Seattle, WA (October 17, 2003) -- The Washington Women Lawyers Foundation has awarded its leadership award to Sheena Aebig, a business attorney at Williams, Kastner & Gibbs PLLC. This prestigious honor recognizes an outstanding attorney or judge who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in career achievement, civic/community involvement and service to Washington Women Lawyers.

Of particular note in this recognition was Ms. Aebig’s role and perseverance in spearheading Seattle ACT Theatre’s recovery from financial ruin earlier this year. She committed herself fully, both personally and professionally to the project, and was able to help raise enough money to complete the theatre’s 2003-04 season, with current shows receiving critical acclaim.

"Sheena is simply held in the utmost esteem by all in the profession," says Colleen Kinerk, WWL Foundation Board President. "Not only has she shown incredible fortitude in her work for The ACT, she has also for years been a key player in helping the WWL Foundation accomplish its goals. Sheena was the obvious choice."

The goals and objectives of the WWL Foundation are to support and enhance the charitable and educational purposes of Washington Women Lawyers. This includes support of educational opportunities and efforts related to removing discrimination and the support and promotion of diversity in the legal and judicial professions. Its leadership award is considered each year by the members of the board for both the Foundation and for Washington Women Lawyers, and is awarded only if all three criteria are met.
