United States: Strasburger Attorneys Team Up With Habitat For Humanity To Construct Dallas Home
Last Updated: May 8 2015

Strasburger & Price, LLP (Strasburger) attorneys joined The Dallas Bar Association Home Project on April 11, 2015, to build their 24th annual Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity home. The firm was one of the sponsors of the Home Project, the longest running, local, whole-house sponsor of Habitat for Humanity. The focus was "Bankruptcy Day," and Chief Judge Barbara J. Houser, Judge Harlin D. Hale, and Judge Stacey G. G. Jernigan from the Northern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court, also volunteered to work on the home.

The judges, Strasburger attorneys Bob Franke, Herb Gilles, Andrew Edson, and Moira Chapman along with volunteers from the Dallas Bar Association and other sponsors with bankruptcy practices, worked together to raise the exterior frame of this year's Habitat house. Volunteers will continue to work on the home each Saturday until it is complete.

"Habitat for Humanity provides hope and opportunities to families who don't enjoy the privileges many of us take for granted," said attorney Andrew Edson, who has organized Bankruptcy Day for the past three years and leads the firm's participation in the Home Project. "It is an honor to work alongside my colleagues on such a meaningful and important mission," he added. Andrew serves on the Dallas Bar Association's Home Project Committee, which plans sponsorships of Habitat for Humanity Homes. Andrew has worked on Habitat houses since age nine ‒ a commitment that demonstrates his belief in the organization and its values.

The Dallas Bar Association Home Project will continue to raise money to cover the cost of this year's home, in addition to recruiting labor through volunteers.
