United States: Obama To Nominate Local Strasburger & Price Partner To U.S. Tax Court

President Barack Obama is tapping into local talent to fill one of the vacant seats for the U.S. Tax Court.

The president intends to nominate Strasburger & Price LLP partner Elizabeth Copeland for the tax court bench. Citing her "unwavering integrity" and "a firm commitment to public service throughout her career," Obama said in the White House announcement that he is proud to nominate her.

Established by Congress and composed of 19 presidentially appointed members, the court is in Washington, D.C., but requires the judges to travel throughout the country to conduct trials in various cities. The nomination requires senate approval.
