Australia: Moore Stephens to expand in Perth accounting shakeup
Last Updated: 3 May 2015

Moore Stephens Perth have announced they will be joining forces with well respected accounting and advisory firm, UHY Haines Norton (Perth) on 1 July 2015.

The new firm will retain the Moore Stephens name and see the creation of a team of nearly 100 professionals, delivering astute commercial and practical advice, with the comprehensive support that clients from both firms have enjoyed for many years.

All Moore Stephens Perth and UHY Haines Norton (Perth) partners and staff will be part of the new entity.

All client requirements will continue to be supervised by existing contact partners and accountants.

Moore Stephens will specialise in providing expert audit, accounting, tax and business advisory services to:

  • Listed and private mid-market companies
  • Local governments
  • Individuals
  • Not for profit organisations
  • Indigenous groups.

Moore Stephens Australia Chairman, Don Boyd, has welcomed the news of the merger and the ability of Moore Stephens Perth to offer a broader skill set and an enhanced depth and breadth of services.

"Moore Stephens Australia is thrilled to be welcoming the former UHY Haines Norton team into the network and further enhancing the capabilities of our Perth practice. Perth is a rapidly growing city and a crucial gateway to doing business with Asia. We look forward to working closely with the enhanced team," said Mr Boyd.

Moore Stephens Perth Managing Partner, Neil Pace is also thrilled with the outcome of the merger and believes the two firms' like-minded cultures and strong focus on client relationships will allow for a seamless transition.

"Ultimately we will be focused on delivering astute commercial and practical advice with comprehensive support to enable clients to successfully navigate the challenges they face and to realise their opportunities," said Mr Pace.

According to UHY Haines Norton (Perth) Chief Executive Michael Bennett, the synergies between the two firms were obvious from very early conversations and the culture of personal interaction will remain at the heart of the new firm.

"The active involvement of Partners in all engagements means clients can be confident they have access to an expert and trouble shooter, wherever and whenever they need it," said Mr Bennett.

The new Moore Stephens will be based within the Perth CBD. A search for a new office space is underway.
