Australia: [Invitation - Melbourne] Friends of Madgwicks - Social media in the workplace
Last Updated: 28 April 2015

Madgwicks Lawyers is pleased to invite you to join us for our next Friends of Madgwicks seminar on social media in the workplace.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn present unique challenges in the employment context.

Such challenges include bullying and harassment, brand management and the emerging issue of ex-employees leaving a business with what is essentially a client list (by way of connections on their LinkedIn accounts).

Given the rapidly evolving nature of social media platforms, employers are often uncertain as to what they can do and how to keep up.

In this session, Michelle Dawson and Emily Dempster from our Workplace Relations group will present on best practices in managing social media risks and challenges in an employment context, including:

  • effectively managing performance issues and bullying relating to social media;
  • termination of employment;
  • preventing employees from taking client information with them on their LinkedIn account when they leave; and
  • what's next? - the future of social media in the workplace.

We hope you can join us.
