On Aug. 17, 2019, GFL International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary
of China's Ganfeng Lithium Co., Ltd., completed its previously
announced US$160 million subscription for newly issued shares of
Minera Exar S.A., the holding company for the
Caucharí-Olaroz lithium brine project in Argentina.
This investment raised Ganfeng's stake in the project from
37.5% to 50%, with its joint venture partner, Toronto-listed
Lithium Americas Corp., holding the remaining 50% stake.
Linda Hogg of Gowling WLG advised Ganfeng with respect to this
investment.
