Last week I wrote an article about the uproar over Kim Kardashian’s Kimono brand. Here's a link to that article if you didn't read it: https://www.mindengross.com/resources/news-events/2019/06/28/kim-oh-no!-how-a-catchy-branded-wordplay-has-kim-kardashian-in-trouble

To sum it up, Kim applied to trademark the word “kimono” in relation to a wide variety of products, including undergarments. Kim faced appropriation backlash and she was accused of being culturally insensitive as the kimono is a traditional Japanese garment and is regarded as a distinct part of the Japanese culture.

Despite the backlash, Kim stood behind her Kimono brand last week, however, things took a turn over the weekend because Kim released a statement yesterday that she will be launching her brand under a new name.

What happened over the weekend to make Kim change her mind?

Obviously, someone handed Kim a copy of my article.

All jokes aside, your brand is an important part of your reputation. It might not lead to a total failure of Kim’s undergarment line, but we can’t all be Kardashians. We can help you minimize these risks.
