March 30, 2017- The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) will be accepting applications starting May 29, 2017. The QIIP facilitates immigration to Canada for qualified investors who undertake to settle in Quebec and make a passive investment in Quebec via an authorized financial intermediary. The program is well suited to professionals/business owners with business management experience seeking an avenue to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Applications may be made until February 23, 2018 or earlier if maximum quota is met.   

Who Qualifies? In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must:

  1. Have, alone or with an accompanying spouse, net assets of at least CAD $1,600,000
  2. Have experience in managing or owning a business or professional firm for two of the last five years
  3. Intend to settle in Quebec and sign an agreement to invest CAD $800,000 with an authorized financial intermediary
  4. Assessment of your application will also include other factors such as your age, professional background, and language skills.  Financing options for your investment are available.

Program Cap

The program will accept 1900 applicants. No more than 1330 applicants will be accepted from any single country.

Fluent in French 

Applicants who demonstrate intermediate language skills in French are eligible for priority processing and may make their application at any time before March 31, 2018. In addition, applicants with French language skills are not subject to program caps.

How to Proceed

Only completed applications will be considered. As preparing an application is a lengthy and time consuming process, it is important that work begin well in advance of the cut-off date of February 23, 2018. Interested investors should contact Green and Spiegel to schedule a consultation.
