March 24, 2017 - Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees
and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3749 people to apply for
Permanent Residence to Canada through Express Entry. The
number of invitations dropped slightly by 135 invitations
compared to the last draw on March 1, 2017 and the lowest
qualifying score was 441, an increase of 7 points from the last
round. The slight boost in the Comprehensive Ranking
System points has, unfortunately, led to fewer invitations issued
today.
The take-away from today's draw is that you should be sure to
create a profile in Express Entry, if you have not already done so.
It may be that today's draw could be the beginning of a trend
of points increasing over the coming weeks and months. It may
also be that IRCC determines the number of ITAs that it wants to
issue each draw and then works backward to determine the minimum
points is will settle on. Regardless of the explanation or rational
for the number of ITAs issued, if you don't throw your
hat in the ring, you will never get picked, so create your profile
now.
