March 20, 2017- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has just announced it will be phasing out the paper CBSA Declaration Card, in favour of self-serve display kiosks, for international travellers arriving in Canada by air. The Primary Inspection Kiosks is the latest technology that will expand current self-service options for international air travellers arriving in Canada. The kiosks will allow travellers to verify their travel documents, complete an on-screen declaration, and confirm their identity using facial authentication. Rollout has already begun for travellers flying into the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, and will continue at other major Canadian airports across Canada, over the course of 2017-2018.

As a reminder, Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs) are still required for Visa-exempt foreign nationals flying or transiting through Canada.
