The leniency period for Canada's new Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) ends on November 10, 2016, although the government has introduced a short-term measure for dual citizens.

From November 10, travellers by air from visa exempt countries except U.S. citizens will require an eTA before they board their flight to Canada, whether visiting the country directly or transiting through.

As part of the new rules, Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, will require a Canadian passport to fly to or transit through Canada.
