authorities conducted the 20th round of invitations
under Express Entry in 2016 and 43rd overall, inviting
1288 applicants for permanent residence. The lowest Comprehensive
Ranking System (CRS) score was 483 a decrease from the previous
draw. It was the 18th draw in 2016 under
Express Entry System where the lowest CRS score was below
Express Entry is an immigration system implemented by Canadian
immigration authorities ("CIC") on January 1, 2015 which
manages skilled worker applications under Federal Economic
programs. This includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the
Skilled Trades Program the Canada Experience Class and certain
parts of the Provincial Nominee Program.
Stakeholders expect to see future CRS scores well below
500 this year to enable Canadian immigration
authorities to meet targeted annual immigration levels for

January 4, 2017 - Federal immigration authorities conducted the 1st round of invitations under Express Entry in 2017 and 51st overall, inviting 2902 candidates for permanent residence, a record number. The lowest CRS score was 468, a further decline from previous draws.
A new sponsorship form for those wishing to bring parents and grandparents to Canada is now available. Canadian citizens and permanent residents have until February 2, 2017 to submit an online, short form application after which 10,000 candidates will be drawn at random and invited to complete a full application.

December 22, 2016 - Federal immigration authorities conducted the 27th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2016 and 50th overall, inviting 2878 candidates for permanent residence, a record number. The lowest CRS score was 475, a substantial decline from the previous draw.
December 16, 2016 - Federal immigration authorities conducted the 26th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2016 and 49th overall, inviting 1936 candidates for permanent residence. The lowest CRS score was 497, a substantial decline from the previous draw.
