The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) will be eliminating the costly security certificate requirements that apply to Exempt Industrial Companies.

The amendments to the TSX Company Manual, which are effective as of February 11, 2016, were first proposed as part of a public consultation in May 2015 and remove or reduce a number of expensive features such as intaglio printing, vignettes and printed underlays in colour.  The TSX found that the rules of a number of stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange, do not require security features comparable to what has historically been required by the TSX.
