(OINP) announced that it has reached its limit of 2,500
applications for the base stream. As a result, the OINP will not
issue any additional nominations in the base stream until January
The base stream includes the Master's and PhD streams, the
International Student with Job Offer stream, and the Foreign Worker
The OINP Express Entry streams for French Speaking Professionals
and Human Capital Priorities remain open.
Applicants who have already submitted an application for the
OINP base stream but who have not yet received a decision will have
their applications finalized in 2016.
Applicants whose employer pre-screen applications have already
been approved may submit their corresponding nominee application
under the Foreign Worker and International Student with a Job Offer
No new employer pre-screen applications will be accepted until
January 4, 2015.
The OINP was created to allow the province of Ontario to
actively manage immigrant selection in accordance with Ontario
priorities and needs. OINP runs two streams: the base stream, and
an Express Entry stream. Citizenship and Immigration Canada
sets an annual nomination target for all Ontario streams. Only the
OINP base stream has reached its quota.
