On April 7, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
released a report finding that a large telecommunications
company had violated the Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act when it tracked its customers' browsing
habits, application usage, and television viewing and calling
patterns as part of a relevant advertising program without consent.
According to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the
company subsequently withdrew the targeted advertising
campaign.
