On July 2, 2013, the Ontario government finally released draft regulations for consultation that address
the transfer of assets between pension plans under sections 80 and
81 of the Pension Benefits Act (Ontario) (PBA). These regulations
relate to the amendments to certain of the asset transfer
provisions of the PBA that were passed in May 2010 as part of Bill
236. Comments may be submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Finance
no later than September 9, 2013.
