On June 19, 2019, it was published the Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE and the Brazilian National Agency for Waterway Transportation – ANTAQ. The purpose of the agreement is to foster and spread the free competition culture in the maritime transport industry, as well as to improve the investigation of activities potentially harmful to the economic order.

Among the measures contemplated in the agreement, we emphasize the sharing of information, documents and knowledge among the parties. Each party also makes a commitment to inform the other party about potential infractions to regulations, commitments or decisions of the other party, as well as proposals for non-prosecution agreements affecting the regulatory authority of the other party.
